O’Hara, Koeller named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's Erin O'Hara and Mackenzie Koeller have both been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's 2017 Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

The Camels were also recognized as a 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad, an honor that recognizes teams with a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

O'Hara is a four-time All-Big South selection, earning Second Team honors as a senior in 2017. The senior defender routinely matched up against the best offensive player on every team this season to help Campbell sit third in the league in scoring defense (12.51). The Gambrills, Md. native owned 26 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

Koeller became Campbell's first lacrosse student-athlete to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District this season, also earning Big South Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-Big South honorable mention accolades. The Cary, N.C. native ranked second on the team in scoring with 36 goals, standing third in points with 47. Koeller, a junior attacker, averaged 3.57 goals per game in Big South play, ranking third in the league.

As a team, the Camels finished with their best record in program history with a 10-8 overall mark (.556) and advanced to their first ever Big South Championship game. Campbell finished second in the league (6-1), its best finish in program history, adding a record six All-Big South selections.
