The duo combined for 10 Big South titles during the three competition seasons of the 2016-17 year.
Terer capped off his 2016-17 campaign with fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in the 5K race, earning First Team All-American honors. He reached the NCAA Championship meet with his 5K victory at the East Regional.
The senior from Eldoret, Kenya also took home a pair of All-American finishes at the 2017 NCAA Indoor National Championships. He earned first team honors with his 3rd place finish in the 5K and second team honors with a 12th place finish in the 3K.
Terer claimed the mens 10K title at the 2017 Big South Outdoor Championship. He won the DMR, 3K and 5K titles at the 2017 Indoor Conference meet, and posted a first-place finish at the 2016 Big South Cross Country meet.
He set the school record in the 3K with his 7:59.92 mark at the Camel City Invitational and set the 5K school record at the Iowa State Classic, crossing the line at 13:42.78.
Maritim capped her 2016-17 season with five Big South Championships across the three seasons. A three-time Big South Runner of the Week during the cross country season, Maritim closed out the 2016 cross country campaign with a first place finish at the championship meet.
She continued her cross country season at the NCAA Southeast Regional, earning all-region honors with her 16th place finish.
The junior from Kasok, Kenya continued her strong performances into the indoor season, capturing three Big South titles in the 3K, 5K, and mile run.
Maritim broke the school record in the indoor 5K with her 16:48.09 performance at the Iowa City Classic. She was also a member of the DMR team that set a new school record with their 11:59.41 mark at the Camel City Invitational.
At the Raleigh Relays, Maritim set another school record with a 34:35.83 time in the 10K event. She also took home the 10K title at the Big South Championship meet with her 36:37.98 performance.
This is the first award for both runners and the second consecutive Male Runner of the Year honor for Campbell.
