BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Campbell's Matthew Barefoot and Cole Hallum have been named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State baseball team. Both Camels were second team selections.

The all-state honor is the latest in a string of awards for Barefoot. After being named an All-Big South second team selection, he has been tabbed a Freshman All-American by college baseball publications The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and Perfect Game as well as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Barefoot, an outfielder, finished his rookie campaign with a team-high .335 batting average, which ranked seventh in the conference. He led the league with 22 doubles, while his 74 hits, 120 total bases and five sacrifice flies all stood second.

The Dunn, North Carolina native was second on the team with 48 RBI and eight homers. He was a three-time Big South Freshman of the Week honoree and picked up the league's Player of the Week honor once.

Hallum earns an all-state nod after being named the first team All-Big South designated hitter. The Bakersfield, Calif. native posted a .283 average with 51 RBI and 27 extra-base hits, including 10 home runs.

The 2015 Big South Player of the Year, Hallum was again among the Big South's leaders in several categories in 2017, including second in doubles and sacrifice flies, third in RBI and on-base percentage, fourth in home runs, sixth in slugging and he led the league in times hit by pitch.

With Barefoot and Hallum's selections, the Camels have had 23 all-state honorees since the 2009 season.
