BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Campbell University officially dedicated the Carlie C's IGA video board at Jim Perry Stadium in a pregame ceremony before the Buies Creek Astros game on Sunday, June 4.

The state-of-the art HD video board is the largest in the Big South Conference and one of the biggest in the Carolina League. Measuring 35'7.6" tall and 42'1.6" wide, the board made its debut in April as the Camels faced UNCW, and it has been featured at every Astros home game.

The video board was dedicated to the McLamb family of Carlie C's IGA, longtime supporters of Campbell athletics. The late Carlie C. McLamb and his wife, Joyce, opened a small country store in Johnston County in 1961, the company now boasts 24 stores from Durham to Dunn headed by son Mack McLamb.

Their generosity and commitment is visible from the Carlie C's IGA Hometown Proud Press Box at Barker-Lane Stadium, and in the scoreboards and video boards that Carlie C loved so much.

"We are so appreciative to Joyce McLamb and her son, Mack McLamb, for their continued support and generosity of Campbell University," said Campbell athletics director Bob Roller. "This Carlie C's video board is a complete game-changer for the experience of fans at Campbell and Buies Creek Astros baseball games. The late Carlie C. McLamb loved supporting Campbell athletics and he loved scoreboards, so this is such a fitting tribute to his legacy."

The video board at Jim Perry Stadium is the third new HD Daktronics board to be installed at Campbell athletic facilities in the last year and a half.

A center-hung four-sided video board measuring 7 feet high and 13.5 feet wide on each side made its debut inside Gilbert Craig Gore Arena at the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center in the spring of 2016. Along with eight LED scorer's tables, the video board was the final piece of a year-long refurbishing project at Gore Arena.

A state-of-the-art Daktronics video board made its debut at Barker-Lane Stadium in August, 2016, prior to the opening of the Camels' football season. Measuring 24 feet high by 42 feet wide with a 15HD pixel layout, the board is the biggest in the Pioneer Football League and helped add to one of the best gameday atmospheres in all of FCS Football.

The video board at Jim Perry Stadium was the latest of many additions made to the facility this year. The Jim and Daphne Perry Pavilion was dedicated in May and provides an entire new home for the Campbell baseball program.

The Pavilion features additional seating while providing new offices for the entire baseball staff, a state-of-the-art locker room and new in-ground dugouts complete with a viewing deck featuring some of the best site lines of the field.

A new synthetic turf playing turf was also installed prior to the start of the 2016 season. Additionally, new padding on the outfield walls, as well as new foul polls were installed during the process.
