Baseball takes on UNCW, North Carolina in midweek

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell will host UNCW and travel to No. 4 North Carolina in midweek action. The Camels host the Seahawks on Tuesday, April 25, heading to Chapel Hill, N.C. on Wednesday. First pitch for both games is set for 6 p.m.

Tuesday's game will feature an orange Campbell croakie giveaway for the first 500 fans through the Jim Perry Stadium gates.

Matthew Barefoot leads the Camels with a .348 average and 38 RBI, posting 15 doubles and seven home runs. Jeff Hahs owns a .338 clip with eight homers and 35 RBI, while Cole Hallum hits .272 with 38 RBI and seven home runs.

Drew Butler, the nation's leader in stolen bases with 31, tacks on a .297 batting average with 39 runs scored.

On the mound, Wes Noble is 2-2 with a 3.12 ERA, while Alex Yarem is 2-0 with a 3.64 ERA for the Camels.

UNCW took 2-of-3 at Hofstra over the weekend, including a 20-7 win in Sunday's finale. Casey Golden his .317 with 10 home runs and 21 RBI, while Nick Feight adding a .314 average, 10 home runs and a team-high 34 RBI. Alex Royalty is 6-2 with a 3.50 ERA in 10 starts.

Campbell took a 4-2 win at UNCW earlier this season.

The fourth-ranked Tar Heels claimed their ACC series at Pittsburgh, but have fallen in three of their last five outings after winning 11 in a row. Logan Warmoth leads UNC with a .345 average and seven home runs, driving in 28. Brian Miller owns 31 RBI, hitting .312 with 19 extra-base hits. J.B. Bukauskas tops the North Carolina pitching staff with a 7-0 record and a 1.53 ERA.

The Camels will be meeting the Tar Heels for the first time in 2017.

Campbell will have a six day break for final exams before returning to action Tuesday, May 2, hosting Virginia Tech at Jim Perry Stadium.
